I've also seen corrosion from the old foam inside old TEA, that was used to prevent board & component leg metal-fatigue due to vibration, as well as the vibration isolation of sensitive components and also those foam lined boxes for accessories. See here for the horror stories with old foam & corroded components, pics in post three. Some of the component racks have since been moved to a wooden shed (no heating) to accommodate stuff & machine tools from my late Grandad shed/workshop. Some repairs were done last year, but the asbestos sheet roof part was leaking very slightly in the heavy rain last week, luckily into the containers left from last time. The workshop which I share with my Dad has gas central heating, but is an old building that has been extended in the past with a couple of flat roofed extension, every few years or if a bad storm happens we do get water leaking in.
